Mr. Jack M. Scanlon has worked in the telecommunications and computing field for more than 25 years. His present position is Senior Vice President of Motorola and General Manager of the Cellular Infrastructure Group (CIG). Prior to joining Motorola, Mr. Scanlon spent 24 years with AT&T rising to the position of Group Vice President. While at AT&T Bell Laboratories, he held management positions with responsibilities in the development of Network Systems, including No. 4ESS, and computer systems including the UNIX™ operating system, the “C” programming language, and the 3B Family of fault tolerant computers. A former member of the National Academy of Sciences, he received a B.S. from the University of Toronto and an M.S. from Cornell University. He holds six patents in computing and communications and is a Senior Member of IEEE and Chairman Emeritus of Cornell’s Engineering Board.
